    Spend the day with us learning about Garnishments.  This course is designed to cover all federal and state tax rules concerning child support, tax levies, bankruptcy, student loan, creditor garnishment and voluntary deductions.  We will also cover calculations and coordination when multiple orders are received for the same employee as well as the FLSA requirements to ensure compliance.

    Natalie Lopez, CPP is the Senior Manager, Global Payroll for American Bureau of Shipping. She has been in payroll for 22 years most of this in the Oil & Gas sector.  Natalie has worked in various lead or management positions for companies such as Nabors Drilling, Expro Americas, Pride International, and Ensco, Inc.  Through her tenure she has worked on projects for process optimization, system enhancements and numerous global payroll implementations.  These projects have allowed her to travel to countries such as Canada, France, UK, Netherlands, Israel, Portugal, Brazil, Malta, Libya, China, and Singapore.

    Natalie has been a member of the American Payroll Association since May 2008 and passed the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exam in 2007, recertifying in 2013 and again in 2017.  She is currently serving as the President for the Houston Chapter of the APA and was awarded Payroll Professional of the Year of the chapter for 2016.  She is a mentor/teacher for the CPP/FPC study group sessions twice a year and also speaks at monthly membership meetings and seminars.  She previously served for 4 years on the Texas Payroll Conference Board of Directors where she participated on various committees for including Speakers, Registration, BOD Selection, Volunteers, and the TPC Chapter Advisory Council.  She now assists Texas Payroll Conference as a speaker during the annual conferences.  She currently volunteers with APA National on the Hotline Committee, CHAMPS Committee, Social Networking Committee, Certification Item Development Task Force, and the Strategic Payroll Leadership Task Force for Global Issues.  She was nominated by the APA President to serve on the APA Education Grant Committee starting in May 2017.  In 2017, Natalie was awarded the APA Donald Sharper Educational Grant for Complete Payroll Training Package.
