PIE Series - 3 of 3 Webinar - Grit, #1 Factor in Successful People

Join us as we have two industry leaders present part 3 of a 3 part PIE series. This third series is all about grit or tough mindedness. Learn how to define grit or tough mindedness, how to identify it in your life and others, and how to apply grit to your current situation. The instructors will also provide discussion and exercises to hone in on grit and how to use it to persevere to the next level in your career.

Speakers:

Carol Brickell, CPCC

Carol Brickell is a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC) with over 20 years of experience as a hiring manager and 6 years of experience as a recruiter. Carol is an accomplished HR professional who has supported various levels of employees and executives. She has worked with senior executives to design and implement Leadership Development Programs worldwide.

Carol has extensive experience designing and teaching workshops on Performance Review Processes, Compensation Planning, Coaching, and Interview Skills.  She also has extensive experience coaching employees on career goals and professional development.  Also, she volunteers her time to help others by serving on mock interview panels to help people prepare for job interviews.  She also designed and delivered two workshops at a local church on resume writing and interviewing skills.

 

 Aaron R. Alaniz, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Aaron R. Alaniz is the Director of Operations at NextStep Recruiting.  Aaron has responsibility for accounting, payroll, human resources, marketing, and client/candidate delivery at NextStep Recruiting. Aaron has worked in business in hiring manager roles and executive roles for 20+ years in Staffing, Hospitality, Recreation, Advertising, and Restaurants.  Aaron recently completed his Bachelor degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Human Resources Management.

Aaron is currently serving in the capacity of Website Director for the Dallas Chapter of the APA where he is a current member.

Aaron has 10+ year career in staffing where he has held multiple roles in leadership. Aaron has held his HR Certifications since 2015. He holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute and the Senior Professional Certification (SPC) from the Society of Human Resource Management. Before that time, Aaron spent 7 years as an entrepreneur lending his skills to consult with restaurants and other establishments to drive results. Prior to that, he spent 9 years in restaurants & movie theaters in progressive roles.

Aaron continues to be active in his local community and church working with youth and young families in need since 2003. Additionally, he works with youth in his church teaching leadership skills and providing mentorship to other teachers and students.

Aaron has trained in every stage of his career facilitating and designing curriculum on multiple subjects including restaurant operations, payroll, human resources, training, documentation, difficult conversations, driving results, food safety, interviewing (hiring managers & candidates), and managing performance.

Aaron is passionate about mentoring and training people to be able to reach their full potential in both business and their home life.
